Play date

Caitlin had her first play date today. Leah and Nate Wilson came over. They come to our church and Nate is only two days younger than Caitlin, although he was due a month before her. He's a handsome fella as you can see and has the most adorable face. Caitlin was excited to see him from the time they arrived. They played and played. You should have heard them both laughing as Leah held Nate and I held Caitlin while they both jumped up and down, over and over. It was adorable. Nate is infatuated wtih electrical cords at this time so he was quick to try to find some. He is crawling everywhere and pulling up. He has two bottom teeth too. We had such a good time together. They were both tired by the end of the play time. Caitlin was sound asleep not even ten minutes after they left. The two mommies had fun too! We will surely do it again, right Leah? Next time at your house! We have joked since they were born that they could be girlfriend and boyfriend, even though Nate would be dating an older girl. We are enjoying this time as they will be gone before we can blink. Take some time to hug your children and tell them you love them - no matter what their age is. We never know what tomorrow holds!

October......

Caitlin gets into the most unusual predicaments these days. I guess I could sit beside her at all times and keep her out of these things, but I just let her go (as long as she is safe of course) and see how it all turns out. This is what happened today. She also got teeth #5 and 6 today. She has been super fussy and all the teething syptoms that come along with that. Glad they've emerged. Now she will have teeth that actually meet. She's having a play date tomorrow with Nate, a little boy from our church that is two days younger than she is. We're starting out the dating scene early! I'll post pictures of their time together soon. Lee and I have both been under the weather the last few days. I'm "Lysol"ing everything in site!

She got under there and was fine....until she tried to sit up and then the tears began!

Bumper Blunder

As our dear daughter has decided she likes to throw her legs over the top rail of the crib, I had the job of lowering the mattress. After doing this, I decided to leave off the bumper pad and see what happened. You have all heard that "the experts" say to remove bumper pads after children can get on hands and knees to prevent suffocation. Might I ask who these "experts" are and do they have children of their own? My experiment and "the experts" led to the following scenario in Caitlin's crib. Needless to say, the bumper pad is back on and I am now "the expert."

New tooth...and a few other updates

Caitlin is now six months old and has had the same two bottom teeth for about six weeks. Saturday evening I noticed that she had a new top tooth. I had been feeling around for those front teeth to come in all week as she was much more fussy than usual. Well, imagine my surprise when I saw it was not one of the front teeth that came in first! I can't tell exactly which tooth it is, but I know for sure it's not the front ones. Hopefully they will come on in soon so she's doesn't have a lopsided, yet beautiful, grin.
She has also been trying to crawl. She will get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth and then lunge forward. If you put your hands down for her push her feet off of, she will crawl with no problem. Let me tell you that things will surely change around here! You all know how that goes. We'll probably be using the playpen and walker much more once she is mobile. She already rolls and scoots wherever she wants to go and of course everything goes in the mouth. She continues to be a joy to me and Lee and lights up whenever we walk in the room. She's sleeping good too. She sleeps ten or twelve hours a night - I know, we should be very thankful for that! She's enjoying eating new things. She's still on baby food and formula mostly, but we've tried a few little bites of other things too. She won't pick things off her highchair tray; she wants you to put it in her mouth.
We're looking forward to taking her to her first Abbeville football game soon. Hopefully in the next week or two when I'm off on a Friday. Caitlin loves going to her CC and Papa's a couple days during the week while I work and going to MawMaw and GaGa's on the weekends that I work. They spoil her rotten, but I don't have to think twice about where she is or if she is being taken care of. That is a huge blessing for us.
For those of you that haven't heard, Lee has been able to go full time into the ministry of our Lord. He left The Shepherd Shoppe at the end of July. This was a big change as he had been working there for ten years. The church, where we have been at for a year, voted last month to make him the full time youth/childrens minister. He is excited about the work he will be able to do and the investment he will make in these children's lives. There is a continuous spiritual battle with young people and we have the opportunity to point them to Christ and show them that He is the only way. Please pray with us as we continue our journey.
I'm still working at the hospital three days a week and spend the other four with Caitlin. Not much has changed there. I think that is the updates as of late. Please keep us in your prayers as we strive to live the life that God shows us to live.
