Bumper Blunder

As our dear daughter has decided she likes to throw her legs over the top rail of the crib, I had the job of lowering the mattress. After doing this, I decided to leave off the bumper pad and see what happened. You have all heard that "the experts" say to remove bumper pads after children can get on hands and knees to prevent suffocation. Might I ask who these "experts" are and do they have children of their own? My experiment and "the experts" led to the following scenario in Caitlin's crib. Needless to say, the bumper pad is back on and I am now "the expert."
