Caitlin and her Daddy's hat

Softball Field Dedication Ceremony

The new softball field was played on for the first time on Thursday. There was a ceremony held that dedicated it to Papa. It was named Buddy Collins Memorial Field. It was a dream of Papa'a to be able to have these group of five senior girls to play on a field of their own. That dream is now a reality for them. Papa is smiling I'm sure! Here are some pictures from the day....
View from behind the batter's box....I know, it's kind of obvious, huh??
View from outfield....yes, I know....stating the obvious again!
Then banner that hangs on the outfield fence.
One of the plaques on the columns when you enter the field. There are two columns, and the plaques above and below are on each column.

Each of the light colored stones have a players name and graduation date or position played or year of graduation or nickname. There are also names of the coaches. Great layout!

Fuzzy caterpillar

I went to pick up Caitlin after work Sunday and we were outside with MawMaw and GaGa. I found a caterpillar and wondered what Caitlin would do. So I put it on her arm to crawl. She left it there about 1/4 of a second and then picked it up between her fingers. She kind of rolled it around between her fingers for a few seconds. I was trying to get a picture, as usual. We were all admiring the little caterpillar when Caitlin pulled....HARD....and the caterpillar snapped right in half. Yes, green guts all over her hands! She tried shaking it off but it was stuck. We were laughing so hard at her. GaGa got out his hankie and wiped off her hands. Poor caterpillar. I didn't mean for him to die. Just wanted to see what she thought of it. Guess I'll think twice next time....

Caitlin and the cow

This is our little farm girl. She loves going with GaGa and MawMaw out to see the cows and horses....and, as you can see, she's not the least bit afraid. She was picking up the feed and - one by one - dropping it over the side of the feed trough!

My good friend Jennifer came to town this weekend with her little girl Halynn. This was the first time Caitlin and Halynn have met. Halynn seemed to be infatuated with Caitlin and would squeal whenever she was near her. Caitlin on the other hand wasn't so sure about this little thing that would move and make noises. It was cute. The mommies had a great time seeing each other too!
Miss Halynn.....one adorable five month old!
Look at those big beautiful brown eyes!
Jennifer and Halynn.
Laughing at her mommy. I could just eat her up.
"Aunt Jenn" and Caitlin reading her book. She's still in love with books these days.
"Aunt Crystal" and Halynn....Caitlin wouldn't sit still that long!
We got a quick picture on the couch before Caitlin tried to pull off Halynn's bib. She's got this look like "I know I'm not supposed to be doing this!"
Caitlin and "Pop" Godfrey reading her book. It didn't take long until she would climb in his lap to read.
He went out to get something for supper and she met him at the back door when he got back. She was so sweet!

Caitlin's first visit to the Zoo

On Monday, Lee decided that it would be a fun idea to go to the zoo for the morning. Since it's softball season and he is gone a lot, we haven't seen much of each other. We were in need of some family time - just the three of us. He took the morning off of work and we headed to Greenville. We had a great time and Caitlin seemed to enjoy it too. She was happy and content just to walk around and look at the animals. She wasn't overly excited, but we all had fun. After a quick lunch at Chik-Fil-A, we headed back home. Thought I'd share some of our joy......

The animals were very active during our visit. It isn't too hot yet so they weren't just laying around. I think all of the animals were out and moving about. The monkeys got very worked up at one point and were loud....I mean loud! We had a great time and made wonderful memories!
Daddy and Caitlin as we are heading into the zoo. She stayed in the stroller for a short while as she couldn't see over the railing at the animal exhibits. Oh well, the stroller sure was good for storage!
Mommy and Caitlin
Looking at one of the animals. I love her blonde hair!
Mommy and Caitlin looking at the vultures....not pretty!
Here we are at the giraffe exhibit. She enjoyed standing at looking at the different exhibits.
Caitlin again.....
Daddy and Caitlin watching the giraffes.
Watching,....something....I forgot!
Having a sweet mother / daughter moment at the monkey exhibit.
